Class and In-Car Lessons Cancellations
Early Bird Driving School reserves the right to postpone or cancel any In-Class Session or In-Car Driving Lessons. Your instructor may cancel or re-schedule you’re on-road session due to illness, personal emergency, weather or road conditions, unexpected mechanical issues with the vehicle or being delayed by Road Test in Drive Test Center. Pickups and drop off are from a subway station, and depending on student's availability, location, and instructor’s route maybe from home but not always guaranteed as there are designated areas around the city to practice driving. It is at the instructor's discretion to offer this additional service free of charge. Cancellation of a driving lesson by a student requires a 48-hour advance notice to the driving school at 647-898-6144 and call and text message to the driving instructor. Failure to do so will incur a charge as specified in Package #1, which is payable prior to the next scheduled driving lesson. If an emergency arises in less than 48 hours, please notify your In-Car instructor or the driving school office immediately. Cancellations can be made by call or e-mail only during our office hours Monday-Sunday 09:00 am- 08:00 pm. If there is not anyone available to answer your call, please leave a message, or send an e-mail at earlybird.driving@gmail.com by providing the following info: Student’s name, Time of the lesson, Location of the lesson and contact phone number(s). As was mentioned before, if proper notice is not provided, a charge as outlined in Package #1 will apply (or lost for the lessons, if the package was purchased).
MTO Driver Examination Booking Fee
The MTO Driver Examination Booking Fee is not included in any of our driving school packages. Students are responsible for paying the MTO fees directly when scheduling their tests. These fees are set and managed by the Ministry of Transportation and must be paid separately. Beginner Driver Education Course Certification
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) requires you to complete the BDE course within one year from the date of enrollment. For example, if you enroll on January 1, 2024, your course must be completed by December 31, 2024. If you do not finish the program within one year, you will be withdrawn from the system. In such cases, to qualify for a potential insurance discount, you must re-register for the new course, make another payment, and complete the full program again. Certification depends on your attendance and completion of all course components. The course takes approximately 2 days to record your information in the Driver Education System. As a BDE program graduate, you may be eligible for a shorter wait time (up to 4 months) for your road test appointment and possible insurance discounts. If you need proof of course completion for insurance discounts and have processed your online certification transactions, you must obtain your Driver's Licence History (DLH) from Service Ontario. Service Ontario charges a fee for issuing the DLH. You are also advised to inform your insurance company of your course completion by providing them with the DLH, which serves as proof. Please note that Early Bird Driving School does not issue paper certificates. We only certify students who successfully complete the BDE course online through the Ministry of Transportation’s Driver Education System. Early Bird Driving School is an MTO-approved Beginner Driver Education Course provider, recognized by the insurance industry. However, the DLH does not guarantee an insurance discount, as the final decision is made by your insurance company.
Payment Method and Refunds
You can pay online to Early Bird Driving School by using Visa, MasterCard Credit Card, or e-transfers. If you do not wish to pay online, we can process your payment in-person in our driving school office. All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Once the payment has been made to the school, the fees are non-refundable. There are no refunds after the Beginner Driver Education Course has started. You are not eligible for refund once any instruction on driver’s education course or driving lessons package has been received. In the event, you have paid for the individual driving lessons and would like to receive a refund before the commencement of driving lessons but you has been provided driving instructor contact details, you are eligible for 50% refund of the transaction. The fees will be refunded upon request only in 3-5 business days in the same payment form it was made out to. All services must be completed within one year of enrollment. After the one-year money is not refundable and services will be forfeited. $15 refund charge/fee is applied to the transaction to cover terminal fee charges.
